Cassandra Davenport, Technology Instructional  Coach
Email:  cassandra.davenport@dc.gov

Cassandra Davenport works at Powell Bilingual Elementary as the Technology Instructional Coach. For eight years, she taught 4th/5th grade as a multiple subject teacher, as well as 6-8th grades as a math, science and technology teacher in California. While serving as an 8th grade Algebra teacher, she became invested in technology integration as she helped initiate a 1-to-1 tech device program at her middle school in Santa Cruz. She was a member of the Technology Integration Cadre for Santa Cruz County Department of Education, where they explored best practices for integration. Ms. Davenport also holds a Google Certificate for Education and is a Microsoft Innovative Educator. As a native of Michigan, Ms. Davenport began her work with education through a Bachelors degree from Michigan State University and continued growing through work with the University of California Riverside. She is currently working on a Masters in Educational Technology with a focus in Classroom Technology Integration.

While she is originally from Michigan and will forever be a Spartan, California has her heart, especially the sea lions! She currently call the nation's capital home where she lives with her husband and two cats.

The purpose of this blog is to provide educators with technology integration tips, tricks and insights, while Ms. Davenport herself continues to learn and grow in the field as well. This blog focuses on the needs of the Powell staff, but also can be used by other educators looking to improve their practice with technology integration and use for themselves and their students.
